New Bride ArtDoll...

 New Bride Artdoll is my favorite so far of all the dolls I've made recently <3 I have been playing around with making different face molds from vintage dolls and this one is so lovely.

She is made from new and vintage fabrics, clothing pieces, tulle, recycled sari silk (love!), silk ribbons, paper flower embellishments, rhinestones and her paperclay face is painted and glazed.

The bodies for all the dolls is fabric stuffed with polyfill.

So sweet~

New Dolls, New Year!

Hello, it's been a while since I have posted on here or had the chance to do much art. So happy to be back! It's been a very intense couple of years and I am so very much looking forward to 2017 and a new beginning <3

For the past several years I would have a panic attack every time I  tried to do physical art so instead turned to digital drawing. It's alot of fun doing digital art but I really missed making 'things'. Finally got the courage to start again by doing one of JoAnna Pierotti's workshops that I never completed...and I fell in love with dollmaking again.

At the same time I've also been taking several of Nellie Wortman's online bookmaking workshops and I fell in love with fabric all over again....

And of course I couldn't resist taking a doll workshop by Mindy Lacefield too!

I have listed a few things in my etsy shop recently...baby steps, getting back into the art thing is a little scary after a long break but I'm so happy to be making stuff again so it's all good.

I've missed you all!

'Be Peace' is a new altered PEZ doll and the second in the 'Be Girl' series. She has sculpted antenna and head piece, her sweet face is made from a vintage doll mold and then altered, she has rhinestone crystals, a vintage earring headpiece and metal findings embedded. Paint Party Friday!

Happy Weekend and Happy Paint Party Friday! This week I've been busy making Altered Pez and other fun stuff! The little gnome Pez above is my latest, her name is NoNo MoJo, and she likes to sit in the garden and ward off any bad mojo. She's a real cutie and is now listed in my Etsy shop, hoping to find a new home...Update...SOLD!

I also made this cute Purple BatGirl this week...I used a bat ornament from Walmart and an altered dollhead...so much fun to make! Scroll down my blog to see the post on her and other art I posted earlier in the week. Also, check my left sidebar for fun Halloween blog events coming up!

Little Witch Girl Altered Pez

Little Witch Girl Altered Pez is heading to her new home in Virginia today! She is embedded with watch parts, rhinestones and lots of sculpt detail. I'll be adding more altered Pez to my Etsy shop the beginning of next week! xo

Dia de La Muertos...Day of the Dead Portrait

                       

 
Hello and welcome to Paint Party Friday and Haunted Humpday...and Happy Friday the 13th! This week I am linking one post to both, it's been a crazy busy week! I thought it would be fun to try and do a Day of the Dead portrait. I have always loved the DOD/Dia de La Muertos art and found a cool little workshop by TenTwoStudios. I used an image from a magazine as my model and then gave her a DOD makeup, roses for her crown and collaged her on an 8x10 wood background. I'm still working on some of the details but I think she's close to being finished. I had alot of fun creating this piece. She's now available in my Etsy Shop!

Odd Angel Altered Pez is being published!

I am so excited to announce that my altered Pez dispenser, Odd Angel, is going to be published in the Jan/Feb 2014 issue of Somerset Studio magazine. I have also been asked to write an article about making the altered Pez...I am beyond thrilled! For those that have inquired about purchasing Odd Angel, I won't have her returned to me until sometime after the New Year. Thank you for your interest and if you would like, I have a couple of altered Pez currently in my Etsy Shop and plan to add a few more in the next week or so. Thank you! xo

Paint Party Friday!

Happy Weekend and Happy Paint Party Friday! I am still working my way thru Michael DeMeng's Distressed DollHead workshop and this week I altered a doll head with resin clay, acrylic paints and a glaze...altered a Halloween bottle from Michaels with stamps, acrylic paint, crackle glaze and mica flake...then attached the doll head to the cork, added some fibers...and all done!

I also wanted to announce that the TabithaLenox Etsy Shop is now open and I have made my first 2 sales, so very exciting! I am now setup to take US and International orders, have added Paypal as a payment method and worked out some other details. I'll be adding more items to the shop very soon. Etsy Shop is Open....Updated!

Well, it's official...the TabithaLenox Etsy Shop is now open! I am very excited and at the same time a bit overwhelmed. It's so much more difficult than I thought it would be to put my art and myself out there!

I have added a few more Pez to the shop (you can see the etsy app on the sidebar to your right showing what's listed) AND I am now shipping International! I am currently just using Etsy pay for orders but should have Paypal also set up by the end of this week. Thanks for your patience as I get all this set up.
