Letting Go

This has been a crazy couple of weeks art-wise. I was taking a mixed media painting workshop and as hard as I tried, I could not make the painting as a whole work. I loved the face so took this pic but the actual painting is now in the trash...it was sooo hard to do but sometimes it's best to just Let Go and begin again. This painting is on wood and plaster of paris, with acrylic paints and pencil.

Polka Dot Sally...and Paint Party Friday

I'm back after a short break and I have been taking a few workshops. I made this 8x10 'Polka Dot Sally' folk art painting on canvas in Karen Milstein's workshop on Ruzuku. Fun workshop and I learned some new painting techniques. I will take a better pic soon once we get the sun back. Hope everyone survived all this wild weather.

Paint Party Friday!

Happy Halloween and Happy Paint Party Friday! This week I'm posting two Halloween paintings that I did recently in very different styles. 'Trick or Treat Girl' is a folk art style mixed media painting on a wood panel. Handdrawn and painted with acrylic paints, accented with pencil
And this Vampire Doll is a painting I did in Ady Almanza's Vampire Doll mini workshop. This is done with acrylics and colored pencil on watercolor paper. Ady supplies the template. I've also been busy making more altered PEz and dolls, scroll down the blog if you'd like to see what I've been up to!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I can't believe it's already November!! xo
