I have been taking a short break from making the Altered Pez to do
Michael DeMeng's Distressed Altered Doll Head workshop! I'm learning lots of new altering and paint techniques...Be warned, the doll heads are a little creepy ala Michael DeMeng style....
I keep meaning to take before and after pics but forgot!
So cool that all of this is done with acrylic paint!
So much fun...now I have to decide what to do with all these altered dolly heads!
In the next week or so I'll be going back to doing some of the big eyed girl paintings...and more Altered Pez, once I can find more watch parts and other things for embedding in the clay.

these are fascinating Kim! The first one reminds me of a kind of garden nymph/troll and the second one reminds me very much of an antique German doll I have that was my great grandmothers-well, minus the painting :) Happy PPF!

Kim, The doll heads are expertly altered. The first one looks like the dolls my sis and I forgot and left outdoors. The sun cracked their faces. This was before plastic was in common use for toys and dolls. I'm not sure what the substance was, something like paper mache, I believe.
I am so much enjoying my painted wooden collage you sent. I will forever love showing it off.

You have been having a lot of fun with these dollies, they are indeed rather spooky, still good work and character here!
These are amazing, each one is so unique, I had to go back and look again. It's hard to stop looking at them! Great work.
