Hello and Happy
PPF! This week I did a watercolor journal painting using a paint over technique on a black and white magazine image. I used Neocolour Caran d' ache watercolor crayons, inks and pencil for this one. I cropped the image because the writing around the edges is personal. I love love love this technique and plan on doing more. Thanks for visiting!

How interesting this technique you used on painting over an image from a magazine. That sounds like a lot of fun. You did a great job. Thanks. Happy PPF!
This is such a fascinating technique. It makes me want to get out my Caran d'ache watercolor crayons and try it. I haven't used those in quite a while. The face you painted is beautiful. Her expression is pensive.
So beautiful painting, Kim.
HPPF and have a nice weekend
She's gorgeous!! I've heard of this technique and would SO love to try it out-did you get it from a class or book or somewhere I can find it?
Happy PPF!
I love, love your technique too. I think its great. I've always been overwhelmed by caran d'ache - the colors are so bright and really i don't know what to do with them. Yet, that seems to be no issue what so ever for you. Brilliantly done!!

Beautiful and what a fun thing to do! I've painted over the background before (LOVE that look) but never thought to paint over the image itself. I'll definitely have to try it!
