Happy Valentines Day and Happy PPF! This week I decided to stay with the bright colors and do a mixed media piece with tissue paper, gesso, pens, spray inks and stencils. "Thy Art Be True" is a mixed media painting on wood. I feel like this piece represents my need to develop my own style and look inside to create rather than trying to emulate what I see in the workshops I take. I am very grateful for those workshops, I am always learning new things but my true goal is to develop my own style. Thanks for visiting and hope you have a great weekend! xo

Beautiful background and texture... loved it Kim. So true about one's own style...I think everyone has or will pass that phase.

I think that you are developing your own style... workshops help with techniques and things but your own style emerges no matter what you do... you have sucha great sense of colour and this is wonderful...xx
Gorgeious! love everything about the piece, good art!
Beautiful, Kim. My first thought was: how in the world did she get that look? And then I read about your technique. This is wonderful.
A beautiful heart to love and enjoy art.
i think Tracey said it right - a workshop for techniques - but then.. you let your hair down and let that beautiful creative energy flow through in your style. I really do believe that as artists, we often don't see our own style as it takes shape. The best thing to do is create a lot, don't edit and just do what feels right.
beautiful mixed media, hope you had a great Valentine's!
I love those colors - and the message!! Plus I am such a texture fan that this piece really speaks to me. Happy PPF! xoxo, Silke
I love the texture and vibrant colors!
Texture and colour! :-) Good of you to move your own way with your art! It is only yours truly is it comes from yourself, I think so too.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I really love sculpting!

Great message - beautiful piece!
This creation has such a sparkle to it. It feels crunchy to me, too. It makes you look and look to try to figure out how it was done and what comes first. Great piece.
Wonderfully vibrant colours. A very happy and lovely piece.
I agree - experiment, play, find your own style!
