Finally, Inky success! I have been taking Robin Marie Smith's Mixed Media Mayhem workshop and had the hardest time achieving the layered look that I admire so much. After many temper tantrums and trashed attempts, I finally feel like I created an inky file folder that I am happy with. The secret is to let the layers dry before adding the next color. I'm still a little timid about adding the gesso layers but I am very happy with how this turned out!
Next is a journal page I did for the LifeBook2013 workshop. The challenge was to create an inspirational page painting a mixed media background and building a 'doll' with stamped images. So much freakin' fun to do! The background is made with inks and acrylics....stamped and stenciled....then each individual stamp image is stamped on cardstock and then layered to create my image. Love how different it is.

Wonderful love what you have achieved
wonderful pieces Kim. I have a lot of problems with inks--they are always just a mess when I spray them. Your pages look great!
This is so pretty! Great to see new stuff! :)
Hugs,
Love the backgrounds...and your journal page looks awesome!!!
HPPF Kim:)
Wonderful creations, love the background textures too.
Gorgeous! Your art is so very lovely!
This is wonderful Kim! I do love all the layers and how you added the layered stamped pieces to create the doll. BRAVO!!!
This is so neat1 Your papers are so beautiful! I have been making papers for the first time with the Gelli Plate. Could I ask, what is the trick to good stamping? I either have ink in the spots around the design so I don't get a good outline, or it doesn't print the whole stamp design, not enough ink on the whole area. I can't seem to find the in-between. Your journal page is fabulous, so imaginative and wonderfully done.

Fantastic backgrounds! I am LOVING the depth and layers and the general inkiness! I've bookmarked the class you mentioned!!!
