Fanciful Twist Halloween Party....Love Potion #9...Updated!

Welcome to the 2011 Halloween Party hosted by AFancifulTwist! My theme for this year is the Magick of Love....Welcome to my Love Potion #9 Party...

Although Valentine's Day is best known as a time for love...Halloween can also be so very romantic!

Are you lucky in Love? Do you wish to draw to you a soul mate, a lover, a companion for life? Then here are some spells you can try to bring more love into your life.....

Love Magick Photograph Spell...

When  the moon is waxing and love is in the air, take a photograph of the person from whom you desire affections and place it face up in a small pink box....then cover it with rose petals and flowers that you love. Cover the box with a soft cloth and bury it outside next to your entrance (or if you live in an apartment, place in a closet closest to your front door) to draw your beloved to you.

Pink is the new Orange for All Hallows Eve!

Aphrodite Love Spell

To attract the love of the person you desire, perform this spell on a Friday evening, when the moon is full. On a pink, heart shaped piece of paper, write the full name of your beloved in red ink. Light a white votive candle rubbed with rose oil and chant the following....

Aphrodite, Aphrodite,
Goddess of Love,
And Passion mighty,
Look down from Above
And hear my Prayer.
Grant me a Love
So True and so Fair.

Focus on  the object of your affections until the candle has burned out. Believe with all of your heart that your beloved is on his way. Tuck the heart shaped paper inside a special bottle that is known only to you. Thank Aphrodite with love and gratitude. xo

Don't be frightened, love will find you!

Love Potion #9
Mix Together: 1 handful chocolate chips, 1 pinch table sugar, 1 pinch ginger, 1 drop Amber oil, 1 drop vanilla, 1 piece tree bark (preferably witch hazel), 1 teaspoon honey, 1/2 cup rain water, 1 smooth rock (preferably from a river bed,), 1 pinch sage, and a chip of gold. This is a very powerful, all-purpose love potion.

When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint an curious volume of forgotten lore--
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As if some one gently rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door--"
(Edgar Allan Poe)

Thank you for the giveaway opportunity! Please count me in!
This altered bottle is so great!

Oh Kim what a stunnning magical bottle you made....this is a new art form for me and I adore it. As for Halloween....wellllllll I love the vinatgeness of it. How it used to be in days of old...when we could wear a costume to school after lunch and have a cupcake party without some cry baby throwing a fit like nowadays! We all need a little potion this time of year to take us back to those innocent childhood days...
Glittery hugs, Karla

Mmm, love in All Hollow's Eve, what a treat!

What I love most about All Hallow's Eve is the sense of community. I'm enchanted by the way so many come together to celebrate the mysteries of the world and, yep, the sweets ;-)

Happy Halloween with a Twist!

What a wonderful take on the Halloween theme. I could use that magical bottle! Oh I love everything about Halloween. Every sort of Halloween decoration especially vintage. It is so fun to see how people decorate and dress up.

I'm a singleton looking for a little love. I wonder if lady luck will help me to feel lucky! That is very generous of you to offer this gift.

When you get back on your broomstick swing by my blog - I'm serving brain tonic and three witches brew. Mildred the spider will give you a ride to the river where you can pick up a boat that will take you on one magical adventure.

Have fun visiting all of the parties today.

Halloween has always been the favorite holiday at our house. Evey year, my family of three buy one new piece to add to our Halloween decorations. And each year, we decorate the front yard, and on Halloween night, we prepare for the trick or treaters. The fog machine is turned on as is the strobe light. The creepy sound effects recording is heard through a hidden speaker. A scary ghoul is tuck between two trees to surprise those who come forward. One teenage girl refused to come up to "that haunted house." When we heard that, we had received the highest compliment. ;-)
I love the bottle and would enjoy a chance to win it. Indeed, I like all of your work.

I love all the Halloween treats, fun colors and costumes. Last year we filled up our yard with carved pumpkins and it was great seeing the little kids eyes light up when stopping by our home. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter happen to be my favorite holidays!

I love what you did here...this is such a festive, fun and charming post! I'm so glad I stopped by your party. =)

What I love best about Halloween...for me, I think its about the mystery of the season. If you can allow yourself to get caught up in the spirit of the holiday, and remember what it is like to simply *believe* there is magic to be found. On Halloween night, even if just for a few moments, there is a sense of possibility, suspense and yes, even a little magical loveliness. You just have to know where to look for it. ;)

Kim, I loved reading your spotlight over at Paper Traders. It made me laugh out loud to read about your painting your room pink to keep the menfolk out!

I'd love to be entered in your swap... I love Halloween - it's one of my favorite times of year. I love the fall season in general so Halloween gets me excited about that but I also love the playfulness of costumes and parties... and don't forget the candy!

Black cats and pumpkins and witches, oh my. Where do I begin. For me Halloween is all year but the actual time of year brings out the magic and the mysical beauty of the season. Black cats curled at your feet, your broom at the door with your hat ready to go to meet the girls for a night of flight and merryment. I adore black and orange everywhere, ravens in the trees, and jack o'lanterns lighting up the night. Yes, I do love Halloween. Please enter me in your lovely giveaway.

Happy Halloween,

I love EVERYTHING about Halloween: the colors, the smells and the crisp Autumn air... draping my porch with Spanish moss with cobwebs on the windows... carving pumpkins and baking cupcakes with black and orange sprinkles! I love dragging out the boxes of vintage decorations that I have spent decades collecting and setting them all about. ALL of it, I love Halloween!
